Auditions for the Girls Choir of Springfield

Girls Choir of Springfield is an auditioned community girls choir for students in grades 3–12. Our members come from throughout Southwest Missouri including Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Willard, and Rogersville.
If your daughter loves to sing, learn, perform, and grow in a positive musical environment, we invite her to audition for the Girls Choir of Springfield. Our choir is designed for motivated young singers who are excited to develop their voices, build friendships, strengthen musicianship, and grow in confidence through excellent music education.
Who Should Audition?
Girls Choir of Springfield welcomes girls in grades 3–12 from Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Willard, Rogersville, and throughout Southwest Missouri who love to sing and are excited to grow in a positive, high-quality musical environment.
We welcome motivated young singers who are passionate about music, eager to learn, excited to perform, and ready to build friendships while developing their voices and musicianship in our Southwest Missouri community girls choir.
Whether a student has previous choir experience or is a naturally musical singer ready for a new challenge, we warmly encourage her to audition for Girls Choir of Springfield.
How the Audition Process Works
All choir auditions are scheduled by appointment to provide a personal and encouraging experience for each student.
Our audition process is friendly, age-appropriate, and designed to help us understand each singer’s current skills and future potential.
Students should prepare the following:
First Verse of My Country ’Tis of Thee: Students will sing the first verse of My Country ’Tis of Thee from memory or with lyrics if needed. This allows us to hear tone quality, musicality, and comfort singing independently.
Sing a Scale A Cappella: Students will be asked to sing a simple scale without accompaniment. This helps evaluate pitch accuracy, listening skills, and vocal coordination.
Vocal Range Assessment: Using simple vocal warm-ups, we will gently test each student’s vocal range to determine the healthiest and most comfortable singing area of the voice.
Tonal Memory Exercises: Students will complete short tonal memory exercises. A few notes will be played on the piano, and the student will sing them back. This helps assess pitch matching, musical memory, and ear training potential.
Rehearsal Schedule
Girls Choir of Springfield rehearses during the school year on:
Thursdays | 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM
Location: First Baptist Church in downtown Springfield
Our central location makes rehearsals convenient for families from Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Willard, Rogersville, and throughout Southwest Missouri.
Tuition Info:
Once accepted into the group, tuition is $130 per quarter. This includes music, instruction, and performance opportunities throughout the season.
